GPT is capable of handling bigger hard drives and a greater number of partitions than MBR. MBR supports only up to a 2TB drive size and four primary partitions. On the other hand, MBR versus GPT (https://datarecovee.com/mbr-vs-gpt/) allows for larger than 2TB drives and supports a very high number of partitions - usually 128 on Windows platforms. GPT also makes it more dependable by keeping several copies of partition information at different locations on the disk. Due to the above features, GPT is a more appropriate choice for up-to-date storage devices and systems. In case you are dealing with large drives or requiring numerous partitions, GPT should be your preferred option over MBR.
