I’ve been helping a small business review different shipping options, and we’re considering road & rail service (https://lyonsnsons.com/services/rail-services/) to improve efficiency while keeping transportation costs under control. It seems like using rail for long-distance freight and trucks for local delivery could be a good balance, but we’d like to hear from people who have used this approach. We’re looking for reliable transit times, good shipment visibility, and fewer delays. If you’ve worked with road and rail transportation, what was your experience like, and would you choose it again for regular freight?
