There are many cases where a slow computer is explained by a cluttered storage, a high number of startup programs, or a lack of adequate RAM. To troubleshoot this, remove software that is not in use, remove temporary files, and limit startup programs. Your operating system can also be kept up-to-date, and frequent virus scans should be performed. In case your computer remains a slow computer despite simple repairs, a hardware upgrade such as the addition of more memory or a switch to SSD as a faster and more responsive hard drive can be suggested.
