The 1st Info Day of the POLYPHONIA Project was held on the 4th of December 2019 in Vlore, hosted by PB4, the Regional Directory of Cultural Heritage, Vlore.
The Info Day took place at the hall of the “Culture Palace Laberia” in Vlore, in the presence of the Media and Project Beneficiaries, along with the participation of polyphonic groups’ representatives, as well as stakeholders from Vlore Region.
The purpose of the Info Day was to explain the aim and the goals of the Project to the public, as well as to raise awareness and the interest of key stakeholders. Approximately sixty (60) people attended the meeting, who also had the chance to enjoy a performance by the “Bilbili” polyphonic group. Overall, the Info Day was very successful and it received media attention from the local and national press.
The 2nd Info Day of the POLYPHONIA Project took place on the 30th of January 2020, in the event room of the Company of Epirus Studies, in Ioannina. The Info Day was organized by the Lead Beneficiary, the Regional Union of Municipalities of Epirus (PED Epirus), with great success.
The President of PED Epirus, the Mayor of the Municipality of Pogoni and the Mayor of the Municipality of Dropull welcomed the participants and guests through their opening speeches. The Info Day included a presentation about the Project, its foreseen outputs and results, by the Project Manager, Mr. Deskas, a speech about the importance and history of the polyphonic music, by Mr. Lolis, professor of polyphonic music, as well as a presentation on the links between cultural tourism and the polyphonic music, by Mr. Gartzonikas, Regional Advisor and member of the Tourism Department from the Region of Epirus. During the event, which was well received by the participants, the guests also enjoyed the performance of polyphonic songs by the polyphonic group “Polyphonic Song Association of Pogoni”.
The 3rd Info Day of the POLYPHONIA Project took place on the 16th of June 2021, in Gjirokaster, organized by PB3, the Institution of Prefect of Gjirokastra.
During the Open Info Day in Gjirokaster the public was informed about the POLYPHONIA Project and its goals and objectives, raised awareness and attracted the interest of the key actors/stakeholders. The people attended the event also had the chance to enjoy a performance by the “Argjiro” polyphonic group.
Mr. Arian Korkuti, Project Manager at the Institution of Prefect of Gjirokastra Region, started the Info Day event with his opening speech and the introduction of the POLYPHONIA Project. Mr. Odise Kote followed with his welcome speech. Dr. Ermir Nika presented to the audience the Study on the preservation of polyphonic music and the development of cultural tourism (D3.5) and Prof. Dr. Ylljet Alickaj talked about the POLYPHONIA Thematic Route significance.
